Image Database Conversion

Safe Cities' software and systems, such as FIND IAS and FIND ISS are offered as a remote service to customers. One of the most popular services is that of batch-processing legacy digital custody images via the FIND ISS batch software, operated by Safe Cities' experienced personnel and image processing specialists. Images are aligned, cropped, and generally normalised to the FIND standard.

Legacy images are typically inconsistent in terms of overall image hue, saturation, the background used, light sources (position, intensity and colour temperature), shadows, focus, depth of field, and also the subject's head size, orientation, alignment etc. After the conversion process, the images on the database are normalised to the FIND standard and available for now improved identification processes.

Note that the legacy images can be input into the conversion process in a number of different graphics file formats. The conversion process outputs extensive data with regards to the operation of the process and the success with which each image has been optimised. Please note that the final result always depends on the quality of the original capture process, for which reason we recommend that organisations very carefully examination proposed photography capture solutions for FIND or other image standard compliancy.
