iNet : Face Recognition

iNet is a full function face recognition engine. The main applications for a face recognition engine are in software that carries out two key functions :

1. Verification - comparing a mugshot image to a suggested match from the database to see if the images are sufficiently similar to pass the preset similarity threshold and verify the candidate's given identification.
2. Identification - comparing the current image to the entire database and looking for a match, to ascertain the unknown candidate's identity.

The primary use of iNet is expected to be in conjunction with mugshot databases for custody identification procedures (see FIND CIS).

Safe Cities have also started trials of iNet on CCTV working in conjunction with our SecureID - Witness Album for CCTV system. This new system was demonstrated very successfully at ACPO - APA 2007. Every person enrolled on this developing AFR CCTV system was recognised as a 1st match when they walked back past the watching Lumenera camera.
