CCTV Witness : Witness Albums from CCTV Footage (TotalID witness album)

CCTV Witness allows the operator to extract facial images from CCTV footage, to be placed in virtual witness albums using the Secure ID witness album component.

SecureID is a witness album creation/viewing system that can be used to form any witness album such as PACE 9 virtual covert ID parades, Book of 12, or other format witness albums.

The human operator is required to declare the age (band), gender and ethnicity of the suspect image gathered from the CCTV footage. The TotalID software then selects similar suspects from the Force database (or CCTV image database – see below) to create the required witness album using the SecureID witness album component to populate the album with suitable images from the database. Witness albums can also be populated manually if required.

Obviously, unless the images in the database are also CCTV images, the album will not be of much use for court use as the suspect cctv image will stand out against the FIND compliant custody photography images. For this reason, Safe Cities supplies a CCTV image database for use with TotalID for witness album purposes.

Process auditing - every step of the witness viewing process can be recorded as it may be used in evidence at court.

Viewing, printing to hard copy or file, and burning to CD-ROM is a simple process for viewing PACE 9 virtual ID parades, single or multiple page Book of 12 witness albums, and PACE 9 or Book of 12 slideshows. By Police personnel taking a CD-ROM copy of the witness album and presenting it on a laptop computer, a witness can view images in the safety of their own home. Required PACE forms can also be printed out for use in at-home viewings.
